2.0 Amp for computer/bookshelf speakers?

Hey guys.

I recently added a sofa/tv to my computer room. When I did this I moved my a/v receiver and two of my "polk audio monitor40 series ii" bookshelf speakers and sub over to the tv. This left me using my monitors built in speakers for audio on my pc.

I have two more "polk audio monitor40 series ii" bookshelf speakers in storage. I want to pull those out and hook them up to an amp. I plan on running the system in 2.0.

Does anyone have suggestions of a good amp that would work for my setup?

These are the speakers, (but in black)

My budget is flexible though I don't want to get too crazy.

200w @ 8-ohm and you want a cheap amp? Ooof.

SMSL SA-98E, Micca OriGain, SMSL SA50, SMSL SA36A, or Lepai LP2020A+/Kinter K2020A+ (same internals) depending on budget. If you go for the Lepai (I wouldn't) go for one with the OG Tripath TA2020 and not the cheaper knock-off versions.

I recently upgraded from my LP2020-A+ to a SMSL SA50 and am happy, but I also have 50w 6 ohm speakers.

Thanks.

I don't need dirt cheap. I'm thinking sub-$200. I know audio can get pretty crazy though and I don't want to spend too much on the amp.

*Those aren't the correct speakers. For some reason the link is not correct.

SMSL SA-98E wouldn't be a bad choice and it's about $50 cheaper than the last time I looked at it. It's advertised at 120w @ 8 ohm but you're probably only realistically going to see maybe 80-100w or so.

That looks like a winner. Going to give it a few more weeks to let my Xmas $$ hangover subside then will pull the trigger on it.

If you want better connectivity and features:

SMSL AD18
Sabaj A4 (or the tiny A3)
Topping MX3

Ppl should learn to add more info to their posts when they ask for help...

Cool.

I noticed a few of those.

Out of the 3 you listed which would you consider the best option?

Oh, and what about equalizers? Do you guys have any suggestions for an equalizer?

I still haven't made a move on the amp so am still open to suggestions.

Thanks.

The Sabaj only allows single channel input via RCA, else you would want to use the bluetooth or optical input, which is on quite a few motherboards nowadays. walmart does sell those cables though, so makes it easy to setup if you dont have one.

Quite honestly, if any of those amps can properly produce at least 30w rms musical power, its going to have pretty decent output.

Those polk speakers are fairly responsive and can sound really darn good if you can feed them 100w rms.

You should have one with your sound card/onboard audio drivers but some programs like Foobar have one built in that is good. If you're asking about presets, the "best EQ" is going to vary and unless someone has identical equipment (and ears) it's not going to do a whole lot for you.
