Yeah, that's nice, flood the report queue over something like this, that's helpful. Here's the thing; you've been attacking "virtual" 5.1 compared to "real" 5.1, when that doesn't make a lot of sense. Pure stereo is what's behind all of it, not any of that Dolby Headphone stuff, no "virtual surround", nothing. Just pure stereo. Comparing that with the virtual haircut to a 5.1 headphone set is a much more apples to apples kinda thing.

Lets get something straight....

All so-called 5.1/7.1 or 'surround sound' headphones are VIRTUAL surround. It doesn't matter how many drivers are physically in the speakers, they all use some sort of correction to attempt to simulate the sound of correctly placed speakers and true surround sound. This is why often a good processor like an x-fi card and a quality pair of stereo cans are better than 'surround sound headphones' There are a few 5.1 headsets that do a good job and sound decent, but the vast majority are no more than a gimmick.

Now, due to the fact that you boys and girls can't seem to play nice I'm closing the thread.

Current Sound: ODAC > SA Reference IC > Musical Paradise MP-301 6v6 tube amp> Tekton Designs 4.1 loudspeakers
