just got an m.2 ssd but it didnt come with a screw to secure it to the motherboard. for those with m.2 ssd's and z97/x99 motherboards do you know what size screw it used to secure it to the motherboard itself? thanks

My educated guess would be a 6-32 x 3/16" pan head screw, same as the screws usually used to secure a MOBO to the standoffs. If a washer is needed, you may need to go up to 6/32 x 1/4".

I believe they are metric, flat head, and lower gauge.

EDIT: M.2 might use 3mm M2 or M2.5 screws. Trying to confirm....

To answer most of your questions: (1) a fridge cannot cool a PC (2) 64-bit OS for over 3.4GB (3) If a PCIe card fits, it should work (4) Resolution, not screen size (5) Report, not respond to Spam (6) Single-Rail/Non-Modular PSUs are not always better than Multi-Rail/Modular (7) Sequential does not matter as much as random for OS drives (8) Requirements come before hardware for servers

The R5E comes with a screw preinstalled in the standoff. Your board was missing the screw?

upon further inspection there is a screw pre-installed just below the m.2 slot. thank you so much praz, spent an hour at work today researching m2/m3 screws for nothing haha thumb.gif

for an upgrade of a friends computer he bought a silverstone pcie adapter and a samsung 950 pro m.2 now he got the problem, that theres no screw /standoff in the packaging (both of them..).
does anybody know by now what is needed?

Guys! We are burning Motherboard (M.2 SATA SCREWS) like the Wind......

Anyone have ANY idea what SIZE that M.2 SCREW IS????????

Notebooks, do NOT come with a SCREW.......

Thoughts?
