Hey, anyone alive here?
Guys, I need advice, regarding over-provisioning. I've bought 970 Evo plus recently, for 1TB. OP is 10%, which is almost 100GB!
So, I know about OP, TRIM, perfomance, endurance, nand cell's replacements, etc.. But, I'm really lost regarding all this in real life, i.e. how it actually looks in "home" kind of usage.
Thus, I would like to keep some volume for myself - and since I've considered 1TB as totally needed... Simply put, I don't know how much OP space to leave.
As an example, for 1,5 years of active usage, I've wrote ~18TB of data on previous system SSD. I thought about calculating probable wearing level, but something tells me it's just stupid and won't give me any hint.
