SX8200 Pro low 4k read results

I recently got an ADATA SX8200 Pro 2TB drive and I've noticed that I am getting low 4k read speeds compared to the reviews I've seen online.

These are the results I get;

Seems like ony the 4k read is problematc

However if I boot into safe mode, I get better results

I am not sure what is causing this, I've uninstalled ESET Internet security thinking it was adding a huge bottleneck to the 4k read speeds but that was not the case.

This is not a boot drive and is only used for file storage so thing should be actively accessing it.

I've installed the latest chipset drivers from Intel.

Im out of thoughts on this, can anyone chime in ?

safe mode doesn't do any secret performance tweaks, it's all well documented and mostly just stops what's allowed to start on launch. If it's performing better in safe mode then something you're running when you're not in safe mode is causing the issue. Nobody can tell you much past that just by a SSD benchmark screenshot.

I've got a bit less free space than you on my SX8200 Pro and it's my OS drive and I'm sitting at 58 MB/s.

I do apologize if my post sounded like safemode had some performance tweaks that benefited NVME drives, that was not my intention to do so. I only tested that to ensure nothing else is loaded and to rule out any hardware related issues.

What other information is needed for us to be able to troubleshoot this better? My only start up item is ESET Internet security and I've tried uninstalling that and I still get the same result.

Do you have anything enabled that does background recording on loop like shadowplay's replay function maybe?
