adjust your settings to optimize the system for benchmarking and you won't be disappointed anymore.

I've turned all power saving settings off I think. I'm not sure what the problem is tbh.

what motherboard do you have? For one you haven't installed your mobo's SATA driver.

Yeah thing is, it's a Dell XPS 8500 so it's a Dell version of an H77 Intel board. I upgraded to Windows 10 recently and because this is a 2012 machine, Dell aren't 'supporting' it with recommended drivers so I'm using Windows 10 generic drivers except for my nvidia video card. I'm not exactly sure what drivers to download because of this.

Well, there is another issue. With the motherboard you have you probably can't access most of the features you need to disable. I know for a fact that that SSD can have much better results with the proper motherboard settings. 4K QD1 performance is influenced heavily by C1E, EIST/intel speed step, C-states, etc. Disable those and make sure turbo is enabled and you should see much better performance.

As for what driver, use this: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downloads/eula/25165/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST-RAID-Driver?httpDown=https%3A%2F%2Fdownloadmirror.intel.com%2F25165%2Feng%2FSetupRST.exe

The driver alone will help as well

Yeah there doesn't seem to be many options in the system BIOS. Even though I'm running a UEFI set up, the BIOS isn't displayed any differently for some reason. The CPU options I have are: Intel Hyper Threading (ON), Intel Speedstep (ON), Intel Virtualization (ON), CPU XD Support (ON), Limit CPUID Value (OFF), Multi Core Support (ON) & Intel Turbo Boost (ON).

So, from that what should I turn off?

Thanks for that driver link, I'll be sure to download it thumb.gif

For higher 4K speeds you need to disable Intel Speedstep. That alone should help a lot. Just remember that with it disabled that your CPU will not downclock during idle and consume more wattage.

Goodluck!

Ok I'll do that, thanks smile.gif

Oh btw, I tried to install that SATA driver but a window popped up saying: "This platform is not supported"?
