Project Idle

Main goal and reason for the name - After this project I hope to chill out on building for awhile, suppress that upgrade itch I'm sure we're all familiar with. biggrin.gif

This is my first build where I have a sponsor backing the project, so very excited and grateful for that.

Big thanks to EKWB thumb.gif

Rundown of some of the main components

CPU - Core i7 3930K
_MDG0744

Motherboard - ASRock X79 Extreme4-M
_MDG0766
_MDG0765

Memory - 16GB of G.SKILL Ripjaws X
_MDG0761
_MDG0769
_MDG0771
_MDG0779

GPU - My good 'ol GTX 690 cooled by a EK-FC690GTX waterblock (new plexi top provided by EK as I polished the old one and didn't like how it turned out) redface.gif
_MDG0622
_MDG0628
Picked up a new backplate for the 690 as well.
_MDG0632
Excuse the dust smile.gif
_MDG0634
_MDG0637
CPU block is the EK Supremacy. Side note, the polishing I did with the CPU block actually turned out alright, but since I wanted to GPU and CPU blocks to match I requested a replacement top for that as well.

_MDG0648
_MDG0646
_MDG0651

Storage -
A 250GB Samsung 840 EVO
_MDG0750
A 3.5" 1TB WD Black and a 2.5" 750GB WD Black. Reason I picked up the smaller 2.5" drive is just in case I want to use the larger drive bay area for other stuff.
_MDG0758

PSU - Silverstone Strider Gold S Series 850W SST-ST85F-GS. This PSU has a depth of only 150mm, so figured the more compact the better with this case. Also as you can see, not done with the sleeving yet. Only have part of the 24 pin done and one PCI-E 8 pin. redface.gif

Look at some more of the watercooling goodies Snorkle.gif
Both rads were provided by EK - the EK-CoolStream PE 360 and the EK-CoolStream PE 240. These rads are sexy IMO and I've always wanted to try them out. wubsmiley.gif

Fittings for this build are also courtesy of EK. Using 7/16" x 5/8" compressions and CSQ 45's and 90's. Kind of went trigger happy here with all the pics I took, my apologies. tongue.gif

For this build, I ditched the MCP35X and went back to a D5. smile.gif
