Wow, that is crazy. Is it april fools or something?? Odd that they would stop it because of it being "boring". Makes you wonder if they even used all that data for anything, or just to make point whores happy.

I think there's more to the story behind it. Just seems very stupid to come out and say "i'm bored, we're closing". By ending DNETC on that note, that just doesn't leave him looking bad, it leaves the entire BOINC community looking bad that this is how projects can end. Something like lack of funds or resources would have been a more acceptable reason than saying you're bored.

Cool... well, I still wanted to do Dnetc with it... LOL!

But, whatever, got it to crunch whatever and I LOVE Einstein and Milkyway.

Milkyway and World community grid are close to my heart biggrin.gif Was hoping we could get something done for our kids. Perhaps better medicine and make milkyway better know. Dnetc was just for points so team would get better standings and more attractive smile.gif

I started with WGC too... try to always run that as well.

But, "boring" is a weird excuse... wonder if someone could get the code to the servers and such to duplicate the setup and continue the project...

Math projects are boring most of the time, but that doesn't mean we don't like it! The same reason the project was started is still there... it's only the attitude(s) of certain folks that have changed.

Well boring is right word for math projects. If there were medical project @boinc for amd gpus i would run only those, but nothing yet. Poem and Gpugrid should get it up in the future. Hoping there will be others aswell.

Gpugrid doesn't work well with my GTX460. Somehow it's very slow getting only 30k ppd with longruns.10 times more points from DistrRTgen.

Same here. Yesterday was one of my best days, although it may have just been a fluke.

Personally, I like the math problems. More-so than the medical projects. Math/science (excluding medical) for me. Makes me sound little cold though.
