The 3 sixtrack tasks I downloaded took average 4343 seconds to run on a L5640 in Linux.  Loading this up for a bunker would require 900 tasks if I wanted to dedicate 10 threads to it between now and project start.  Is anyone getting those kinds of downloads?

And assuming I get a bunker what IP(s) need to be blocked?

It won't let my i3 have more than 56 tasks at one time. I uploaded 4 just to have the computer in the system, and then it gave me 4 back to maintain 56 tasks again.

My 2P (dual X5675's) has over 300 and still downloading. 18 have finished in the process, so all looks well.

If I had re-installed with VBox that would be the answer.

Maybe it is just me, but I hate VBox or rather, I HATE being forced to install it for any project.......

I've always been a one for all and all for one kinda libertarian type guy. The PTB can take a hike.

I"ll figure out COS..... (we need more Cos anyway)

I just had 41 tasks complete in 7 seconds each, guess I would need 1M tasks in my bunker.  I think I am going to let things settle down and figure out what to do later.  I have plenty of Zika and Cosmo downloaded.

I don't care much for anything Oracle myself. But in today's world it is often a necessary evil.

TheorySims seem to be dominate. I'm running five and one Atlas, which takes eight threads by itself. SixTrack tasks are completing and being replaced by TheorySims, which is fine. They show 12+ hour completions.

And still downloading tasks....

And now SixTrack has taken over. Maybe I need to change my task settings.headscratch.gif

Code:
127.0.0.1 lhcathomeclassic.cern.ch

Seems to be working

And if you want to block via IP you can use
Code:
188.184.161.218/24

That should still allow downloads, because the download server is at a different address.

Learn me how to do this please. Thanks!

Guessing they're going to keep the 8 tasks per thread restriction despite it being part of the Pentathlon?

EDIT: Also, how does one go about blocking IP addresses and whatnot in Ubuntu? >.>;;;;;;
