Yes, perhaps they've moved the handler to a more powerful machine. In fact, it seems like they dedicated a new one to it, considering the FQDN. smile.gif

I will be able to confirm in ~20 minutes.

I wonder if all the other work will be counted towards the Pent. They have CPU work as well. Even RPi work which I have been running for awhile. I won't be doing any CPU work for [email protected] but maybe that 227 RAC from my RPi2 will make the difference. biggrin.gif

I don't see why not. It's a GPU project in the sense that GPUs far outperform CPUs in it. The project doesn't really care if you submit it from a supercluster or a 386 as long as it is a valid work unit. smile.gif

CPU work will count towards the pentathlon, but most of your CPU crunching is better served with the CPU only projects because of the disparity between GPU crunching and CPU crunching at Einstein (i.e. your CPU will have a higher impact in CPU only projects vs GPU projects).

Except in the case of say a RPi, which has a more limited project selection. Have it crunch whatever it can!

Right.

Blocking both
Code:
einstein3.aei.uni-hannover.de
einstein4.aei.uni-hannover.de
on my computer still let two finished tasks upload. I am officially unsure of what to block now. headscratch.gif

Not sure what the address is for the server they are using.  Blocking einstein3.aei.uni-hannover.de and einstein4.aei.uni-hannover.de will still allow tasks to be uploaded and downloaded.  Blocking the full range of IPs on that server works, but you won't be able to download new tasks.  I am using my firewall to block the addresses, and it will stop communication to the Einstein servers.

Einstein server IP address:

 130.75.116.0/24

@emoga, @WhiteWulfe, @mmonnin, @tictoc,
Right, it looks like it is the Scheduler server. I tried shooting in the dark with the following entries (note they they are commented out for the sake of testing):
Code:
#127.0.0.1 einstein1.aei-uni-hannover.de
#127.0.0.1 einstein10.aei-uni-hannover.de
#127.0.0.1 einstein3.aei.uni-hannover.de
#127.0.0.1 einstein4.aei.uni-hannover.de

But finally blocking
Code:
einstein.aei.uni-hannover.de
has finally disallowed my uploads. On the downside, I cannot download anything, too, so tictoc's solution is just as good.

Einstein doesn't seem to respect work cache settings.  No matter what I set  it will only download new tasks as tasks are completed.  Anyone else seeing the same thing?  If not how are you getting more work?

@WhiteWulfe, just that last one does the trick; I am safely failing uploads now. wink.gif

I posted the others for the sake of completeness.

How many work have you got? I discovered that after sending several valid tasks, I am now able to download a couple of hundred new ones on my slacking machine. In fact, I fully filled the queue on my 2P from the first get-go.

I assume that you get bigger and bigger pre-download allowance dependent on the quality and quantity of your recent submissions.
