Yes, for only units that download after the change has been made.

Do the GPU tasks always take up a CPU core as well? They were always listed as "1 CPU + NVIDIA GPU" for me.

I was hoping to run at least five tasks concurrently on my 6600K+1080.

NV GPUs def need a full CPU thread devoted to each [email protected] task. AMDs can get by with maybe 2x per thread or 2 threads for 3 tasks.

You can configure that via an app_config. You can make them use of as little as 0.1 CPU cores, but some apps don't like that. Might want to try 0.33 of a CPU core per GPU task, that way you use only 2 cores for the 5 tasks.

The last 10% is done by the CPU, if you watch GPU util it will drop off then.

yay REAL SCIENCE biggrin.gif

Anyhow it's going to be a disappointment unless we can get some bulk of AMD GCN GPUs and Nvidia Pascal/Maxwell. (see https://www.overclock.net/t/1425049/einstein-home-project-support-thread/30#post_26038171)

I think it's definitely a good idea for me to overclock my laptop's graphics card, right? RIGHT?

EDIT: I did it, we'll see how it fares.

EDIT EDIT: I finally updated my i5 build with purchase dates and everything! I've had this thing for a long time (Sept, 2012).

@Finrond you should always OC all the things.

Speaking of laptops, I still need to get my utlrabook setup.  That is a toasty little CPU, but it does stay below 90°C.

Ok I tried blocking Einstein on Haf1 in the hosts file it worked.

Tried it on Haf 2 and it didn't work.....

Anyone have the URL address so I can block the whole range in the firewall? For some reason I can't get it to translate...

Never mind, I found it....
