What I did to try and offset the lack of work units was to set my queue to 5 days, and open up both WCG and Cosmology, hoping that between the two it would fill the queue.

Does anyone know what to put in the hosts file to block WCG?

I tried
Code:
127.0.0.1 www.worldcommunitygrid.org

and it still got through. mad.gif

It should be grid.worldcommunitygrid.org

I am blocking 198.20.8.241 on my firewall, and that is keeping my tasks from uploading.

My 5820k ran out of work so I fired up a VM to get more, looks like WCG put a lower tasks limit in place.  It gave me 12 tasks and now is telling me my computer has reached a limit on tasks in progress.

New computers get # of threads + 2 tasks until work is returned.

I just let mine run for a few hours, and then I was loaded up with tasks after turning in some valid results.

It is not a bad policy, since there are all sorts of custom clients, apps, and other things that people use, that do nothing but return invalid results.  I see this on MilkyWay more than anywhere else.  There have been hosts that were turning in bad work for weeks, before the host was blacklisted or they finally stopped requesting tasks.
