January Projects of the Month

[email protected]

Start: 35 - Goal: 33 - End:  |  We just ran this in November, but we have a real shot at moving up a few spots. The goal is 33, but we might be able to climb up to 32 with some extra power.

[email protected]

Start: 8 - Goal: 7 - End:  |  We would need to roughly double our RAC to catch SETI G. Might be a stretch, but I think we can do it. :thumb:

PrimeGrid

Start: 23 - Goal: 22 - End:  |  We should be able to easily achieve this goal, and with a little extra power we should be able to pass the 5 billion point mark. :D

Three different disciplines to crunch this month.  Each of these projects have made great contributions in their fields of study, so let's see if we can give them a boost to start off the new year. :D

Interestingly enough I had just recently fired up Rosetta, and was contemplating Universe as well as getting my 3770k setup up and running again, and specifically running PrimeGrid... ^_^

PrimeGrid for a few reasons, the competition, but also to work on getting a few more badges and hours in the various parts.

I was already running Rosetta. Moved the GPUs to PG as a backup to GPUGrid and switch some CPU work over to Universe and PG SoB.

Not a great so far for 2018. SSD on TR failed I think so I just got that going again. Water heater for the house also failed.

Edit: Rosetta is out of work.
Edit: Rosetta has work again.

I set a system on Rosetta and did not get any work over night.  Spamming the update button on another systems now but no luck.  The server status says it has work though.

We had to replace our water heater recently as well, not cheap.  But the old one had made it 29 years, which I guess is unusual, they said it would be a miracle to do that again with a "modern" water heater.  And the gas heater that is the same age is apparently another ticking time bomb.

Some on Rosetta forum said they've only gotten resends since yesterday. Hopefully some admins will be back today.

Thos SoB tasks are going to take like 2+ days even with 4 threads. They are not fully utilizing 4 threads, maybe 3-3.5 with HT on.

I've got a home warranty so it should be covered. I'm guessing its the original water heater with the house which would make it 20 yr. Just a quick check on Lowes/Home Depot I see most are covered for 6-12 yr so yeah, 20/29 years is a long time.

I'm thinking that a bunch of the tasks that are available are Android ones, as my phones have been going steadily.

Auto spamming the update button finally got me to one task per thread.

I noticed the same thing with the SoB tasks. Only about 80% usage with HT on. Once my current task finishes, I'm going to see how it does with HT off.
