For one, I didn't know they made multi-CPU boards for threadripper, and two, using 32 thread processors, the math doesn't workout....or maybe I have no idea what I'm talking about.
What the?

Last I checked 1950X is 32 threads. I mean, I got a unopened one sitting in my room right now which I plan to setup here soon.
I sure would like to know how someone manages a 100 out of that chip.

So, I never run SETI before. Any tips I need to know?

The lunatic's app that was posted earlier in the thread seems to be the thing to do. Right now I can't get any tasks for SETI though.

I got one Astropulse v7 and I stopped downloading work as the ETA was over half a day for my 0.25 queue I had setup. I have one now and it shows 11 hours so it dropped a couple hours.

SETI has a 100 task per GPU limit. I wrote a guide on how to setup multiple clients. With a 1080 you'll need quite a lot of clients. Also get the custom Lunatics installer and you'll be running MUCH faster.

3 cards in two PCs stopped getting SETI for me as well so they are running PG. One Linux, one Windows. Another in Linux is getting work though.

It's now v8...but limiting it to gpu only is done on the Seti website. Under Preferences.

Ah, thank you... I was looking for that under "Computing Preferences". It's actually under "[email protected] preferences" from your user control panel...

Use the custom apps. SETI isn't worth running w/o them. Several times faster.

SETI will also probably be down tomorrow for their Tuesday maintenance.

With three events announced I wouldn't expect the GPU event to be later.
