I've been running 16 long tasks on my desktop. The 5 longest running ones have been running for 2 days 1hour at 97.682% completion. They say there is 1:09:54 till completion but the time remaining only drops 1 second in about 30 seconds of real time.

[EDIT]
I just encountered something that has me debating whether I want to run SRBase ever again.

I just rebooted my machine so I could run the 4.17.1 kernel I just compiled and when I open BOINC Manager, what do I see? The 16 long tasks that I've been running, some for over 2 days, all started over from the beginning. Apparently they don't have checkpoints.

Ouch.

The % completed progress is slowing down as it nears 100%. The 1st 50% was much quicker. 9 completed so far for 6k each. Some with reported 0.0 seconds CPU time. Some with CPU time from the same PC. Beats me.

The Sierpinski / Riesel Base - long badge should get an upgrade though to the 500k badge.

It looks like the tasks are running OK for other people on the team with Ryzen CPUs. If it is my CPU, then I guess I will finally go ahead with an RMA.

I have 70 of the long ones ready to complete Sunday night once I get home and power my machines back on and another 60+ long ones to run next week. Hopefully the credit is good.

Apparently there are no save points... I have nothing to turn in tonight.

I got some long 3 tasks.

long 2 - runtime 12-27h ([email protected])
long 3 - runtime 19h-60h33min ([email protected])

Looks like 50% to over 100% longer than long 2. Some of mine finished in 2-3 days so 4-6 days. One task is 8.5 hours in and 25% but I don't expect to stay at that pace. Thats on a 2670v1.

I just did the same thing. Even after reading Diff's post yesterday, I took all my machines off-line to do a little spring cleaning, and, lo and behold, my tasks that had been running for about 20 hours were back to the beginning.

I have now unchecked the long units in the preferences for most of my machines; during the summer I cant keep everything running all the time due to heat.
Only one machine runs 24/7 for [email protected] and I have allowed that one machine to run long units by default with the option to get other units if no long ones are available.

I aborted my remaining long units out of spite, and then I changed my mind and decided to run some more SRBase.

Loaded up on tasks again, but I didn't get any of the long2 tasks. I did grab a few long3 tasks, so we'll see how those do on my 1700 that is now running at 3.7GHz.
