I always try to have a backup project set to 0% resource share so if the one I want to run goes down then something else will keep the PC busy. Typically I do that with a pretty stable project like WCG for CPUs and [email protected] for GPUs.

I am still getting the new Universe app version, which is fine for me since it seems to be faster anyway for the same credit. From like 50-55min CPU time if I recall to 36min according to BOINCTasks. So even with the 2P 2670v1 and 3570k doing WCG, my production hasn't dropped much.

February projects?

What do you guys think of this GPU? It's an AMD FirePro S9100, FP32 @4.2TFLOPs and FP64 @2.1TFLOPs selling at $159 on Ebay.

I think the S9100 has about the same specs as a firepro W8100. I was getting 600k+ PPD on my W8100 in milkyway, for the few times that I ran it 24 hours straight.
I know there used to be waterblocks for the S9100, otherwise you might need to get creative on the cooling.

POTM Final Totals

[email protected]
Start: 19 - Goal: 19 - End: 19 | We kept our 19th spot, and we are sitting in a pretty strong 4th place in the Formula BOINC marathon.
[email protected]
Start: 7 - Goal: 7 - End: 7 | We are less than two days from passing SETI.Germany for 6th place. Maybe we keep Universe rolling for another month, and see if we can sneak into the top 5.
[email protected]
Start: 10 - Goal: 9 - End: 9 | Goal achieved. Thanks @Jpmboy for the boost on MilkyWay.

I'm good with Universe for another month. I want to get that 100m badge. It's actually my top hours CPU app in WUProp now.

Awesome.

I should have a 7990 and 7970 back crunching MilkyWay once I get a few things sorted out.
