Since there was the cheater (or I guess a host issue), I was guessing that old tasks were being re-validated. My pending task count yesterday was 10x normal. So I think we got extra credit yesterday, even if the credit was lower than normal. The admin upgraded some things yesterday to fix the cheating issue and could not figure out how to implement the fixed credit per task and went with a version of Credit New.

Quote:
Ok, some explanation.

This user host was doing wrong and his tasks should be not valid but...
As you remember, I had made server upgrade some time ago. Because of problems with validator I had to use old one, changed a bit by me long time ago. Unfortunately, with new BOINC server software the validator didn't work properly (which wasn't obvious as it was no problems during the time). I'm in contact with the user and it looks like his host was compute with errors but no it is fixed.

Now I'm working on new validator version but... It not accept points declared in template any more - need to get info about point in another procedure (not possible to use with already generated tasks). This is why at least temporary switch to new credit system. And there is another point.

Previously granted 666 points per task looks not really fairy, as it is quite large number for not very long tasks used usually. The question is - do we have to come back to credits per tasks defined be me (with possible changes to bit smaller amount of credits) or use credit new system?
I do see some tasks ready to send now.

Acoustics optimized apps. I need to get these and the SETI ones installed.

I just changed from the previous cuda90 to the new cuda100 app on my 1070. Looks to be a bit faster, but hard to tell with the variable run-times on the SETI tasks.

One thing is definitely for sure, and that is, if you are running SETI you would be crazy not to run the optimized tasks. I dug through my valid tasks to find a comparison.
Another 1070 running the stock app in Windows, is more than 4x slower than my 1070 running the optimized app: https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/work...uid=3341118405

For Windows you can use the Lunatics app. These are the links I found, but I'm not sure if they are the latest version. http://mikesworld.eu/download.html http://lunatics.kwsn.info/index.php?...ownloads;cat=9

Maybe @mmonnin or @k4m1k4z3 can chime in, since I think that they have some experience running SETI in Windows on NVIDIA gear.

Yeah Lunatics for Windows. I don't think it's a CUDA 90 or 100 app though. I believe the fastest version was SoG vs the default or sah app. There are command lines to put in the mb_cmdline txt files but I never got into that. I don't know how the SoG windows app compared to the Cuda 90/100 app in Linux.

yeah, with the lunatics app, seti tasks are taking ~6 min on this 1070Ti in windows... seems pretty futile. I would have to build a linux install for z390/9700K, someday. Lol - I think I'd need ot be more of a believer in the whole SETI thing before that.
