Projects of the Month for February 2019

February Projects of the Month

[email protected]
Start: 25 - Goal: 22 - End: | The new optimized apps have really turned up the efficiency on Acoustics, especially for anyone that is running in Linux. The Formula BOINC Marathon standings are also wide open, and we might be able to make a run up the rankings.
[email protected]
Start: 7 - Goal: 5 - End: | 6th place is a few days away, but we might be able to sneak into 5th with a good month.
[email protected]
Start: 118 - Goal: 116 - End: | We have lost 4 spots since we ran this in August. Time to see if we can start making a move back towards the top 100.

Universe admin released v0.11 app that works on all my systems but its slower than 0.09 and 0.10. Sometimes quite a bit slower.

I guess doing Universe is good while the points are jacked up. I'm doing more in a day now with the same hardware than I did in a week when it was POTM a year ago. I don't know why Universe and CSG increased the points so much.

I've ran 19 of the v0.11 tasks, and the average runtime is about 50% slower than the v0.10 tasks on my 4790k.

I just looked at mine, the 0.11 tasks do seem to be slower, but I also noticed this guy that's been a wingman on a number of my tasks...and completing tasks in less than 10 seconds with a i7-7700HQ.

There is a post in the Universe forums about the same user and the impossibly short runtimes.

No need for that. Some users have made custom apps that make processing MUCH faster with CUDA 9.0.
https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/foru...977862#1977862

For linux, unzip the app_info.xml and exe files (set them to execute) into the SETI project folder.

For Windows, use this 0.44 Lunatics installer.
http://lunatics.kwsn.info/

Run just a single task at once.

Upon waking this morning, I noticed that my team name at Universe had switched to INTERNATION according to BOINC Mgr which I promptly quit. Now Overclock.net doesn't show up as an option to join so I am crunching teamless there for the moment. Anyone else seeing this?

Edit: The plot thickens: Universe has disappeared from the Formula BOINC page.
