will do. gonna have to take the 2080Tis off [email protected] for a while... migrating them to a new platform.
did you disable the vram P2 lock-out?

edit: I disbled the NV P2 cuda lock (on pascal and turing it only afdfects the vram... on Volta is affects core and vram). did +390 on the TXps (11.9GHz), and +400 on the 2080Tis (11,100)... so far, no errors. looks like it shaved 30sec + off the TXp time, not sure about turing yet.

P2 lock-out? Not sure what that is. My NV cards are in Linux. Pascal can OC the memory in P2 state there. Maxwell was locked but not Pascal.

If you'll have any errors it will happen at task validation. The actual task won't error/abort from what I've seen.

yeah, Maybe not a thing in linux. I can OC the ram while in P2 but nvidia's power-voltage thing can get tricky. NV drivers in windows place the vram in P2 with cuda or opencl with pascal and turing (and volta_. NV Profile inspector v2.1.3.20 allows you to disable this. The snip below is off my Titan V rig where I leave it in P2 which affects vram and the core power state.
I'll check the validation over the next day(s).
that said. Running the TXps at 2085 and 1524 (GDDR5x) nets ahonest 60sec per. 13:30 -> 12:24 average. Turing is behaving strange. I have to work on that. Very little improvement at +700 (1925, GDDR6). Both cards run +1000 or higher without issues. Lol - I need to start a lab notebook.

P2 is a compute state. NV drivers move to a P2 state and lower the VRAM clocks when it detects that the GPU is computing. P2 state is used in Windows and Linux. But it can still be OC'd. Maxwell couldn't (except with NV Inspector in windows or BIOS OC) but Pascal can easily in Windows and Linux which was where I was confused.

Someone at SETI made an script in Linux to force it to stay in P2. Many only run one task at once so the states go back and forth between tasks starting and stopping. A 1GHz OC in P2 is ok but that OC can be too much at normal gaming clocks and crashes the driver. Running tasks in parallel there's less chance of the GPU leaving the P2 state. I haven't tried the app but probably should.

Not sure how much help this will be, but I was also getting compile errors on Arch. The AUR package was outdated, and after I edited the PKGBUILD to pull the latest stable release (2.5.2) I was able to compile cvmfs. It looks like the Gentoo package is pretty old, so that might be the issue.

I found out what the problem was, the version of cvmfs in Gentoo's portage is only compatible with openssl 1.0 and I have 1.1 installed. I made an edit to the Gentoo ebuild to use the lastest version, but I have a dependency error now.
Code:
CMake Error at /usr/share/cmake/Modules/FindPackageHandleStandardArgs.cmake:137 (message):
Could NOT find VJSON (missing: VJSON_LIBRARIES VJSON_INCLUDE_DIRS)
I haven't figured out what package that would be yet.

just as a followup on Einstein, overclocking ram on TXps is very productive - especially after disabling the P2 cuda/compute toggle in nvinspector (eg, compute in P0). Running 2 per, completion times dropped 13:30 per task to 12:25 per task. 2080Tis (again, compute in P0) dropped from 15:50 per task to 14:14 on average. I use the "Estimated time" shown in Boinc as the metric after running at the new settings for half a day or so. In both cases, the cards are pulling 200 and 220W each (Xp, 2080Ti). It is very different with the Titan Vs, the P2 compute toggle puts both the vram and gpu in P2, and runs at 0.75V on the core(s) like Quadra cards do. But they are on milkyway (where they should be )

I noticed some Theory Native tasks today for LHC. There is a native app like ATLAS that does not require VBox. Same setup required with CVMFS as there was for ATLAS.

https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/...?id=4971#38259

It is defaulting to 2 cores per task on my 3570k. I haven't started any yet.

Edit: And it is its own separate app, Theory vs Theory Native so WUProp counts it separate.
