I am getting plenty SixTrack now in Linux. At first it said no Atlas were available then some downloaded a bit later.

Any one have the IP to the upload server? I found an IP from a past Pentathlon but the first task I finished uploaded, so it didn't work. Hopefully allowing that 1 task to upload will get me more work.

Looks like the feeder is down for real now. https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/server_status.php

Diffident It will be about 45 minutes before I can confirm, but these should be the ones:
Code:
188.185.75.236
137.138.31.174
137.138.44.21

*Edit*

URLs for a hosts file:
Code:
boincai13.cern.ch
boincai07.cern.ch
boincai09.cern.ch
*Edit 2*
@Diffident those IPs seem to work to block uploads, and it looks like download requests are still getting through, just no work is available.

Those aren't working for me. Everything I've done has uploaded. I know the host file is being read, I can block and unblock NFS....though it sometimes takes a couple minutes for it to kick in, but I've changed it 15 mins ago and it should have worked by now.

LHC started giving Theory Native tasks. I hope they work, I haven't tested my install of cvmfs yet, the probe says everything is good so fingers crossed.

Code:
Probing /cvmfs/atlas.cern.ch... OK
Probing /cvmfs/atlas-condb.cern.ch... OK
Probing /cvmfs/grid.cern.ch... OK
Probing /cvmfs/cernvm-prod.cern.ch... OK
Probing /cvmfs/sft.cern.ch... OK
Probing /cvmfs/alice.cern.ch... OK
Oh, and another weird thing, LHC says I don't have virtualbox installed, but I can start up a virtual machine of Ubuntu just fine.

Blocking the IPs is working for me. Although it won't be much, since so far I've only managed to grab 50 tasks on one machine. Not sure on the hosts file, but what I posted is what the IPs resolve to.

Oops, those IPs didnt work for me either... there went several hundred LHC sixtrack units... Hopefully my wingman was more careful.

So far only 6 out of 225 validated

I blocked 137.0.0./8 and 188.0.0./8 ... that should do it A little overkill but it lets me upload Einstein while blocking LHC

I finally got a decent load of sixtrack tasks. Sorry for any wrong info on the IP addresses, but FWIW the three I listed are working for me

Now I'm curious if for some reason, my upload server is different than the one you guys have. Here is how I find the upload server and the IPs.

Code:
~
[email protected] $ grep -m1 'upload_url.*lhc' ~/boinc2/client_state.xml
    <upload_url>http://lhcathome-upload.cern.ch/lhcathome_cgi/file_upload_handler</upload_url>
~
[email protected] $ dig +short lhcathome-upload.cern.ch
137.138.31.174
137.138.44.21
188.185.75.236

I get those same IPs when I issue that command, and nslookup returns the same names you listed. But putting those in my host file does not stop uploads.

I have a few hundred tasks in VMs and alternate clients that I can block by turning off network activity.

And not bothering with blocking seems to be effective enough since 11.1% of the work I have uploaded has validated so far.

So LHC is one of the projects I've had the most trouble getting to work. On every one of my systems the WUs pause part way through with a status of "Postponed: VM Job Unmanageable" on windows 10 or straight up returning an error and aborting the WU on native linux. The windows problem is always solved by suspending the WU, restarting BOINC, and resuming the WU, but I'm not going to do that manually for 72 hours. Anyone have any suggestions?
