I'm posting this here, in hopes of it reaching someone at Logitech that cares enough to do something about this.

There are a few threads going on over at Reddit about the G102 & G203 displaying signs of acceleration, after the latest firmware update.
Logitech gifted us with 2000 DPI extra (from 6000 to 8000) but that gift came with an added 'bonus' of acceleration (at all DPI steps) of about 3-5%, it would appear.

A user over at Reddit made this video to demonstrate it:
If you search Reddit, you will find numerous people that claim they also experience said acceleration after the firmware update.
Here's the thread posted by the same user who posted the video.

I was able to replicate the issue in Quake Live [raw input], using my G102 with updated firmware.
I was not able to detect the same issue with my G303, using the same DPI/sensitivity/settings.

Admittedly, my test is far from scientific, and could easily be placebo.
But perhaps somebody here could do a more in-depth test?

I have to say, I have read too many users posting too many posts over at Reddit about this issue to think its all in their heads.

I have another G102 in the mail. The second it arrives, I shall perform the same test and see if it displays any sign of acceleration (I won't update the firmware on this one, obviously).

It could be related to sensor position and box position, if your wrist rotates and you cause the cursor to go up/down then it will show up in the results slightly, there are also other things like normal amounts of SRAV.

But why would a firmware update change any of that?

I tried to get the OP in that reddit thread to use mouse tester but he refused and spazzed out at the idea of not using paint.

From logitech support (after waiting for a long time for a reaction):

"I''m sorry to inform you that once updated is not possible to get back to the previous version."

I then asked to send me a previous version of the firmware but they woulnd't do that. So now I use a different mouse.

Logitech really ought to be more customer friendly than this... mad.gif

Other mice producers will let you roll back happily.

Which tests have you, personally, performed that make you so certain its just "FUD"?
Do you even own a G102 or G203?

I do not claim to know the truth.
But I've spent the whole afternoon testing acceleration with the following mice:
Steelseries Sensei 310
Logitech G402
Logitech G502
Logitech G403
Razer Deathadder 2013

And the G102 obviously.

The were only two of these mice that didn't gave me perfect 1:1 tracking and that was the Deathadder, which seemed to give me some acceleration and some deceleration at times.
And the other one was the G102, which gave me roughly the same amount of acceleration every time.
