I never used the old MX 518, (in fact I was using a trackball). I am looking for a good mouse that teaches and forces me to palm grip.

I like almost everything about the MX 518. Buttons are nice and crisp, weight is exactly right, not too heavy, not too flimsy, materials feel great, cable is the best stock cable I have seen so far, left side is super comfortable.

But that ledge on the top right side is killing me. Where the **** am I supposed to place my ring finger? It's too small to place it on top of it and too pronounced to place it under ist.

The way it sits in my hand..my ring finer rest on top on the matte finish just to the right of where the matte/gloss seem is and my pinkie grips the side.

This is a 1-3-1 grip mouse. Your index, middle, and ring finger go on top of the mouse and your pinky goes under the ledge. Yes, under it.

Try it for a few days.

I have a MX518 since ages but I'm looking out for something "new" and that will permit me to actually use the two extra buttons on the left part..... for some games I need at least two handy extra buttons that are quickly and reliably accessible..... often I have easy way to use the lower one, but for the upper one I just don't feel comfortable to use it so many times I click both with issues you can imagine, particularly in FPS....

I think the palm grip is the more comfortable setup for me so I was looking at the latest corsair ironclaw (wireless) or the glove (wired) models.... I don't need feather-light mice (106 grams for the original MX518, but even 120 or 130 grams won't change anything)

So anyone of you tried both and can tell the main differences? particularly regarding comfort and extra buttons feeling?

thanks in advance

Or angle mouse 45 degress so no fingers will actually reach the ledge.

What's so special about this mouse? I thought the G400 was an upgraded MX518 and was good enough.
