Are there giant (talking 36"x18") power play mats available? Or is there a way to DIY a giant one (or to retrofit a part an existing mat?) only reason I ask is because I recently purchased a 48x24" neoprene mouse mat and it is... fantastic. So plush, mouse space across my entire desk, absolutely *nice*.

But wireless charging for a wireless 502 would be even nicer.... Although I could easily live with a separate charging dock/surface to the side of my mat it would kind of defeat the purpose and be a pain in the ass if forgotten.... but with 60h battery life I feel that is a relatively minor problem.

Biggest concern here will be weight. I just hope that it is similar enough to the original 502 to be able to be offset by the lack of a cord which (ultimately) is the biggest advantage to this mouse, not having to deal with the cord snagging or changing your angle of movement slightly etc.

If only the 502 didn't have all those ridiculous side buttons. I prefer the overall shape of the 502 over the 703, but the extra buttons don't do the 502 any favors

It's lighter than the previous models at 114g; slightly less without the powerplay door.

Make a mouse with the same body shape as the G502, remove those silly extra left click and sniper buttons, give it the name G50X, instant success. Would look better on top of it. While I'm definitely being unnecessarily picky, the G502 looks seriously over-designed, would be much more appealing looks wise without the extra buttons and keeping the comfy thumb rest.

But I can dream right

P.S. maybe they should extend the length of the body too, having big hands sucks

Doesn't hurt me at all BUT I really don't like their metal scroll wheel, if they only copied and installed the Scroll Wheel from their G903 series, then we would have a near PERFECT mouse being released.

Instead we get the same ole released as a "Wireless", now that's pretty sad in anyone's books since it will look exactly like any earlier released model, which was attached to a cable.

Where's the special design/colour/shape and feel that differentiate's this Model Release ?

It does have the 903 scroll wheel.
However, it's still 112-114g grams. That weight, plus the fact I don't need all those buttons makes it a pass for me.
