G502 Lightspeed (Wireless)

EDIT: G502 Lightspeed is officially released. Priced 149USD.

Get higher speed memory and manage to run your game at 240+FPS with all kinds of v-sync and buffering turned off before you talk about mouse precision.

199 CAD, so probably 150 USD - not confirmed yet but it was in CAD on Amazon.

This with the new 60h battery and weighing 115g should make for a really great mouse. Only the price can prevent it from being as popular as its predecessor.

Now that I think about it, it's exactly twice (+/- 1g...) the weight of the air58, so you know the "brick" meme will live on, despite the obvious functionality advantages of the G502 (and, most likely, build quality).

I just ignore their crap now tbh. Calling the G502 a bad mouse overall because of it's weight, despite it's other features and intended purpose, is like saying a car with great gas mileage is a bad car because it doesn't go fast.

I remember using G500 with max weights installed. Was lighter than my logitech mouseman pro wireless.

Back when mice looked like actual mice.

If I didn't have a pre-order on the Odin, I would probably buy this new G502 sight-unseen. They're completely different mice, but I'm just looking for something that is obviously better than my G703, and I don't care if that's because of weight or shape+function. Contrary to what mousereview would have you believe, 115g doesn't make a mouse "unusable."

G502 Lightweight without battery inside and ~90-100g would be cool

Yeah. I'm surprised if they were going for weight reduction on a new wireless G502 why it's not just PowerPlay so they don't have to include a battery. Obviously then you couldn't use any pad you wanted though, so...

But if it's Powerplay compatible, you could have the option to remove the battery. 90g G502, oml.. ;0

I'm quite sure you do need a battery for PowerPlay anyways, it's just how induction works.

It's the first time I'm reading about Powerplay working like that. As far as I know, all it does is keep the battery charged within the optimum levels for battery longevity.

Anywho, they were saying tomorrow is the rumored announcement day for this, right?
