i'm actually really hyped for this mouse. better cable, better sensor position, very low weight and a great shape imo. gonna pre order for sure.

according to the cm rep on reddit, it's heavier because it has rgb.

Very interesting, looking forward to hearing more details and getting some pics.

Same shape. + RGB and software implementation according to the rep on Reddit.

We now have a picture of what's presumably a prototype. I think it's a bit amusing they actually changed the hexagons to match their logo.

Hope to god that is a prototype and not what the final product is.

Considering they said the final product would have a paracord type cable and all that... it doesn't seem to be final.

But I would hope they improve on other things like the mouse wheel, buttons, etc.

That picture there literally looks like they slapped a different shell on a existing Mastermouse S PCB. It literally has the same mouse wheel and everything.

Well, CM just posted a bunch of pictures and info on reddit. They also confirmed that the cable in the prototypes is just a regular cable and they'll be using a paracord for the actual release.

Alright let's sort some things out. Curse you Google, you're too good.

MM710

- Shape: Ambidextrous, side buttons on the left, based on MasterMouse S with modifications
- Weight: <52G without cable
- Coating: Matte black with UV coat
- Cable: Paracord is planned
- Sensor: Pixart PMW3389
- Main Buttons: Omron D2F (20 million rating)
- Holes: Lots of them. Cooler Master hexagons
- RGB: Nope
- Price: $49.99
- Date: Expected September
- Availability: This won't be limited production

MM711

Same as above with some differences below:

- Weight: <57G without cable
- Coating: Matte white with UV coat
- RGB: Yep
- Price: $59.99
- Date: Expected October
- Availability: This also won't be limited production

Notes

- The units above are working prototypes. There are still changes we would like to make and we're open to feedback.
- The images you've seen prior to this post are of a non-working prototype without a PCB and other innards.
- We determined that the holes on the main mouse buttons are up a little too far shown here. We will fill those holes in to make it easier to place your fingers there.
- The sensor position is more central compared to the MasterMouse S shown here. On the left is the MasterMouse S, Right is MM710/711
- We will attempt to do a paracord cable. Granted, it won't be true paracord because to sell the mouse, it must still have some shielding to be compliant, but we'll try to make it light and flexible.
- This isn't a one-and-done release. We want people to actually try this mouse.
- No, this won't make you connect with nature.

Also, I hacked a prototype of this mouse together so I have used it and compared it to the numerous mice I (used to) own. However, it was using the CM110 bottom plate and PCB, so exact performance isn't guaranteed (I think it weighed somewhere around 65g). However, feel free to ask questions and leave some suggestions!

I'm gutted they didn't move the sensor more than they did.
Yeah, it is improved... but just barely. ;(

"However, it was using the CM110 bottom plate and PCB"

So the CM110 coming without holes as well? Tbh the holes are just too much. I wouldn't be able to grip on the buttons without touching the holes.

Why not just make the bottom plate holed? 70g is plenty light, I doubt it would be more than that this way.
