mice won't work in windows

Hi, I installed a new mobo the pc starts and goes to the bios fine. When i boot from the cd to make a clean install the mice won't do nothing i can't move it . Any help

Does the keyboard still work? Try plugging the cables into a USB 2.0 slot.

Does the mouse work in the EFI, or in a different OS? Does a keyboard work when plugged into the same USB port?

Are you using one of the case ports or one of the ports on the motherboard itself? If the case, did you attach the cable to the USB header on the motherboard?

yes, The mouse only works in the bios . No matter is in the mobo or case ports. The mobo not have 2.0 usbs just 3.0

Pain that is why I like mobos that keep the PS2 mouse I/O.

See if the mobo has a new Bios and flash that to see if it fixes the problem.

It sounds like a driver issue, not a BIOS or Firmware issue.

Driver issue? He has not even installed any OS yet.

Weird, maybe a corrupt install disk? I'd make a linux live disk to test, and go from there.

What is the cd you are booting from ?

If you are trying to install Windows 10 you may be better off downloading it onto a USB stick and installing from the USB.
