viper ultimate preview and more from razer

original preview at
warning some info will not be endorsed by razer or have not been disclosed, some image are not entended to be published and was for internal use only.
be ready to see mouse torture, dirty mouses and lots of dust!

hello my name is tails i m a player....
i guess you start to know me
it has been months i answer to a tons of questions in this reddit.
month ago i have been selected by razer in the first wave of " for players by players " initiative to test the viper ultimate
i think i had the mouse already when the first leak started when a cs go player was using it...

during this time i was able to test a razer viper ultimate development unit.
it was a prototype.i am not allowed to review this unit because it was judged unsuitable for review and was dismantled by razer.

so this is just a preview, the review is coming later i have a new final version wil be sold for around $150.

i would like to thanks razer the fiend ,he was a very kind and nice person
and listened all my noncences during all those month .
and razer for sharing so many things with me .

so lets start.
here the developement unit, a lot of things changed in the final. the coating changed the clicks the wheel the lag so i will not speak about it. but it was feeling so good, almost like mouse being assembled by hand ,it had a lots of quirks and some bugs from the beta software.
but they got fixed.

the mouse come with a rgb charging dock and a cable.
you can charge on the magnetic dock but the mouse has a micro usb to be charged directly.
i prefer cable charging myself.

the cable is a speedflex cable, the same shoelace paracord style cable the wired viper is using.
actually when charging by cable the mouse looks almost like a wired viper. some differences on the button gaps tell it is the wireless version.

the mouse weight 74g, here the image shared by razer
so yes the mouse is 5g heavier than the wired version .
but the battery module and wireless module is heavier than that and they had to change the shell.

the bottom of the mouse is very different from the regular viper ,
it has new feet design, a on\off switch, the dpi button and....
new white rounded ptfe feet!!!!
mine had janky black feet but it was a prototype and they was basically cut and glued by hand...

so yes this mouse glide like butter and i m glad razer listened on that one.this made me really happy.

ok now some specs from razer. and the future of razer. because this mouse is very important for them.
the viper ultimate is actually their first 6g mouse.
this mean yes this mouse is their first mouse revive.
and yes more will come, with the new focus + sensor and lk razer optical switch
the new basiliks is just the first!
and they will come with lighter shells and separate buttons.
but razer is dropping the 6G name.
now the sensor is called Focus +
and yes the leaks are real.
they have their own wireless tech the hyperspeed just like logitech with the hero and lightspeed .
but some infos was undisclosed and some info razer will not support them.

20k dpi sensor (probably 3399) cooperation
650 ips
50g acceleration BUT 50 is the limit of their testing machine.
so it is 50g to be safe.
99.6% resolution accuracy
battery of 380mah rated for
1000hz no rgb 70h and around 50h with the battery...

but that is only half of the story.
rgb in this mouse can be very taxing.
i think in this test it was 33% brightness and with glorious rainbow puke mode...
was pretty bright but i was able to destroy the battery with a flash light setting with white 100% brightness...
dont use at night.
but you can extend the battery too.
the sensor has actually a power saving mode , and in this mode, the spec change.
it change to 40g acceleration
and 450ips
you can select this mode in synapse and when it trigger.

and lets say you want to play final mouse style... so low power mode, no rgb and 500hz.
the mouse will stay around 90 and 99h of gameplay.
so yes this is a game changer.
and yes the mouse blink red when it is out of battery but it start so early you can play almost the whole day before it shut down.
by the way, the mouse is full of interesting details like
it have a motion sensor inside and when the mouse will sleep, it will turn on and move your cursor on screen like a wired mouse every time you will bump it.
if you dont like that i recommend you turn it off to save battery.
small details too, every time the sensor will detect a surface the dpi led will turn off to save on the battery.

A cable without a ferrite core must be a real nightmare for you. I am really suprised that you use it that way.
