There is a "Logitech connection utility", a standalone program to update the receiver. You can find that on their software downloads page.

None of the Hero lightspeed wireless mice work with LGS. The last version of LGS was 9.02.
The G903 SE (3366/best buy exclusive), which MAY have improved lever tensioning and less lever play (mine is flawless) works on LGS 9.00 and 9.02 still as its still a G903.

If you buy a 903, you should mod the L/R clickers immediately with Omron D2F-01 or Omron D2F-01F or ZF DG2 T85 (Cherry) switches or Panasonic AH1480619 or AH1460619 microswitches.

TL ; DU (yes U lol)
Wired is still better.
Logitech has less latency but is less stable.
Razer is more stable but has higher latency.

As for hero vs 3366, the hero has a fully dynamic frame-rate resulting in a stiffer feeling when changing axis of movement. Not as noticeable as in the mercury but still a little different.
But yeah you're used to a 130g mouse so I'm not sure you'd notice.

only thing updating the firmware does is extend battery life

R.I.P. Zawarudo, may you OC angels' wings in heaven.
If something appears too good to be true, it probably is.
Best R0ach Quote of all time : TLDR: Haswell might be the last legit gaming platform unless mice get their own non-USB interface on some newer architecture.
