This forum has an appalling lack of discussion for new AMD architecture's effect on mouse movement

I currently use Intel and Windows 8.1, refuse to use Windows 10, and thus don't have an AMD so I can't yet comment on this situation, but for example:

- AMD X470 chipset is by ASMedia. Conventional wisdom is that ASMedia anything sucks, so do mice suck on this chipset?

- AMD X570 chipset is "in-house", so I guess the USB controller is designed by AMD and should probably be better than X470 for mouse movement. Well, is it?

- Starting on Intel Z87 chipset, when you plug in a mouse to the USB 2.0 port on Windows 8.1, it acts in pass-through mode to the USB 3.0 controller and doesn't let you use the USB 2.0 controller at all. The USB 3.0 controller has higher deadzone and more latency, which is why I use Z77 instead. Boards like the Gigabyte X570 Aorus Xtreme have 4 USB 2.0 ports on the back. The million dollar question is if you plug in a mouse to these ports, are the mice routed to an actual USB 2.0 controller or do they just act in passthrough mode to the USB 3.0 like Intel Z87 below?

X470 - passthrough; mouse movement sucks but this can only be observed in superior FPS games like Counter-Strike 1.6; it's fine everywhere else

Intel 8750H Laptop - does this thing even have 2.0 ports? If it does, they're passthrough as well

In your pictures above, you didn't click the "devices by connection" option in the view tab to see if your USB 2.0 ports are acting in passthrough mode to the USB 3.0 (xhci) controller or not. Also, whenever you install a new mouse or unplug random USB crap, always remove all the grayed out options under the "human interface devices", "keyboards", "Mice", and "Universal Serial Bus Controller" sections. It looks like you've plugged in a USB stick and should remove it's grayed out entries (yes, it affects mouse movement having that stuff in there).

Don't get crazy removing stuff from other sections like "root print que", though. Some variables like that make your cursor movement feel like twice as fast and outta control for no reason after you remove them (clown cursor) and will make you want to reinstall the OS.

There is no "Bus" in the "by connection" filter. It just shows the controllers in the same way as the "by type" filter.

I mean, I see no USB 2.0 controller there at all so it's obviously running on USB 3.0. I guess not all X470 and X570 have USB 2.0? You can click pictures of the Gigabyte Aorus X470 and X570 and see they both have USB 2.0 ports on the back:

https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Motherbo...MING-rev-10#kf

https://www.aorus.com/X570-AORUS-XTREME-rev-10

But if you do some googling and type "X470 or X570 USB ISSUE", you'll see people having tons of problems with these ports where connections just drop, repeat keys for no reason, don't work at all, not detected in Windows, don't work in the BIOS, etc.

I can confirm that my board does have two USB 2.0 ports on the back. I usually plug my keyboard in them.

I've never experienced such issues but I do feel very unusual mouse movement in CS 1.6 regardless of which port the mouse is plugged into.

On my X470 looks like this. I always plug my kb and mouse in the USBs that are blue. One by the LAN connector.

OP, how does yours look like?

EDIT: Third ss is from an MSI A320M. Second ss is a B350 which is my gaming rig. Plays csgo fine.
