i have a roll of gun tape/bat tape that i use for the same outcome. costs exponentially less, but you're gonna have to custom tailor it if you're OCD about a e s t h e t i c.

IMO, it's only useful if you have a poorly shaped mouse for your hand and grip style.

Not only do I not need grips for my mice, they are easier to keep clean without the grips.

surely if you don't need a grip for a smooth metal fork then you can figure out how to hold a mouse without plastering it with sand paper, lol.

It's not a matter of opinion. You can have one, but it's irrelevant. People with dry hands cannot grip matte plastic or UV coatings properly. I mean, you can if you use enough force, but that's problematic in itself.

Considering the vast majority of people use mice with matte coatings (and Glorious mice in matte vastly outsold their glossy counterparts), grip tape or rubber cutouts probably sound weird to a lot of people.

The range of mice I can lift comfortably is very limited because I don't sweat; at all. That's why I have to stick to glossy coatings or, if I REALLY want a mouse that is not available in a glossy coating, grip tape or similar.
