My good old MX310 is dying, proper replace?

Hello there?

After 8 years of gaming sessions, my Logitech MX310 left button is starting to feel less "clicky".
I've using this model since 2005, so since the MX310 is no longer being made by Logitech, I decided to try the G403..... After it arrived, I was highly dissapointed.
Don't get me wrong, the mice quality is nice, the RGB looks cool, but the grip.... It has almost the same lenght and width that my old MX310, but the height make the grip totally different, like bulky.
I love the flat style of the MX310... (maybe it's because is a right/left handed mouse?)
So, do you know any model in the market that has similar grip and height that MX310? See pictures below for better explanation.

Also, due to pandemic situation in my country, I cannot check in person the mouse I'm buying, have to get it online.

MX310

G403

I was in g400 / g400s / g402 / g502 / g303 / g403 / g603 wave, just curious about them, so I kept only g402, g502, g603, those were closest to being most comfortable out of all, and still have a very good sensor. G603 is exactly as g403, only kept it for wireless reason, so I would recommend g402 and g502, as you returned g403. Also loving Sensei 310 (coinsidence, 310 - mx 310 ? haha ) , it's my daily driver now, flat, wide, great sensor. Epic Gear Morpha, flat with weights, great sensor

I wouldn't recommend the G403 to any MX310 user. I would suggest the Zowie ZA series, the DM1 FPS, and the HyperX Pulsefire Surge. The Surge is a good mouse but quite underrated. The way the sides groove instead of being flat walls might suit you even more.

Good luck.

I've been looking for a decent replacement for 15 years now...

The closest I came was the Aorus M2.
But Gigabyte ****ed up the sensor implementation so badly that it is basically useless.

I see someone recommended the G402 and G502.

Let me save you a lot of trouble (and money):
There is no modern Logitech mouse that will feel anything like the MX310 - especially not the G502 or the G402.

If you absolutely must have a Logitech mouse, there's only the G102/G203/GPRO/G305 which will feel a lot more like the MX300 than the MX310. But the MX300 still feels a lot closer to the MX310 than the MX500 feels closer to the MX310.

The G402 is an 'evolution' of the MX500 (even though it might not look like the MX500, it defintely feels a lot like it in the hand).
The G502 is a perversion of the G402 - smaller and much heavier. Feels even less like the MX310 than the G402 does.

There's one more Logitech mouse that might be of interest to a MX310 user. The GPRO Wireless.
If you're drunk and high at the same time, close your eyes and imagine you're holding an MX310, then you might just trick your brain into believing that you are holding a slightly larger MX310 that is straight, instead of sloping downwards.

But I would *not* recommend getting the GPRO Wireless in your case, since you mentioned you're unable to test the mouse at a shop/whatever. This mouse is just too expensive to order blindly.

The G102, on the other hand, is very cheap (if you order it from China with free shipping).
That would be a less risky option, in case you want to test the G102/G203/GPRO/G305 shape.

In general, [all brands] look for medium sized mice. Ambidextrous, obviously.
Look for mice where the buttons sit further down than it's rump.

I mentioned in my other post that the closest I came to finding a replacement for my MX310 was the Aorus M2.
Two other mice came somewhat close too (but nowhere near as close as the Auorus M2); the Steelseries Rival 110 [not 310] and the Ninox Venator.

The Venator is hard/impossible to get, and has an unfortunate sensor placement (too far back).
The Rival 110 has awful clicks. Especially when you're used to Logitech's world class clicks. But it shouldn't cost a fortune, and is still available, as far as I know.

But be warned, these will *not* feel like the MX310.
They just felt more like it to me than the other 100+ mice that I've gone through in my 15 year long search to replace the MX310.

Oh and btw, do not discard your old MX310 mouse even if it doesn't work anymore. Keep it somewhere safe.

In the not so distant future, 3D printing and 3D scanning will be better, cheaper, easier and more widely available.
Eventually, we will be able to scan the MX310 shell, reproduce it and put a modern sensor into it.

[technically can be done today already. But I'm not well versed in these matters yet]

Why do you say that about the M2's sensor?
I was checking online and is available to buy online here, same price as G403.

For many of years I have been a logitech fan
I loved my first G602, used it for 6? 7?years and about 2.5yrs ago it started miss clicking, double clicking, triple clicking
I dealt with that for a year, my G430 headset right ear died, figured it was time to get new.. I just reordered both new... both started doing the same thing within 6mths, got new again... same thing in a little over 6mths...
An when then new Logitech G-Hub software came out it was crap.... and still crap.. wont keep settings saved and now wont even pick up that my headset is still plugged in and still kinda work

As always thought it was just my bad luck... but nope seems a lot of people have these problems too.
I honestly think that Logitech's quality just went down hill the past few years....
If it wasn't for the wonky software, I would have fixed the messed up switch as now i have 3 of the same mice....

IMO find another brand
