Hey guys,

Im in the market for a gaming mouse. The average joe Dell mouse isn't cutting it anymore, lol. Something less than $80 please. I have been looking at either the G500, or the MX518. Suggestions? I primarily play Battlefield 2.

EDIT: I prefer a wired mouse. I hate charging batteries and I'm likely to loose a wireless.

Currently Playing
Battlefield 3, Battlefield Bad Company 2

mx518 is a beast mouse. If the logitech mice fit your hand, look at the G9. I stepped up to a G9 after years and YEARS of mx518... and I haven't looked back. Aside from that, BF2 saw 1000+ hours under the control of a 518, but I wouldn't think twice about buying another G9 if mine broke.

I've bought myself a Razer Diamondback 3G ($49.99) and Goliathus Speed Edition mat ($24.99).Check my gallery for pics. I recommend you to get them as well.

What kind of games do you play? FPS = Deathadder, MMO = Naga, but Deathadder is a great mouse for everything imho.

If you're used to the way the logitech mice fit your hand, there's no real need to look elsewhere. I would say to go to a local best buy and fondle them.. feel the mice in your hand or something, and then buy it at newegg/amazon/wherever.

I bought (and subsequently gave away as a freebie) a razer diamondback because I could NOT get used to how flat it felt in my hand. Let's face it, your mouse is basically your scalpel. It's a precision instrument. What works for me may not work for you.

I'm a G9 fan over the 518, but my recommendation is to just use your own hands as your judge.

Good idea. I will probably go to a bestbuy and test out the mice there. Looking at MX518 and G9 atm.

G500.

Solid mouse that is comfortable not only for gaming but general computing.

TOS violation? Report it, don't post thumb.gif.

Profanity on OCN? You've been warned.

Have you looked at the G500? It has hyperscroll and is a little more comfortable in my opinion. I am debating between that one and the G9 atm. Just a thought.
