Or the mining boom is back.

I wouldn't have thought they'd sell well at $700 and they're up to almost a grand? Either someone has found a really good use for these things or AMD loyalty runs really deep somewhere.

On newegg.com the Radeon VII is now $800+ and as stated earlier on newegg.ca they are over $1000. I'm not sure who's doing the thinking at AMD when in Canada I can get an RTX 2080 for the extortionist price of only $929. Total of 12 available RTX 2080s of various models on newegg.ca for under a $1000. Really, AMD better give their head a shake.

They're still $699 with those 3 games on the AMD US site. 1 per customer. Newegg US is more and is sold out, so I think AMD is doing the decent thing here. They said $699 and they are keeping it at that for regular folks that want one.

Yeah, pretty much same on AMD Canada price fluctuating between $918 - $935, although it has steadily risen in the last few days. The problem with buying from AMD directly is that they only offer a 1 year warranty.

I forgot about that terrible warranty. I haven't wrecked any graphics cards yet though, but maybe I'm just lucky.

Wait, if you buy directly from the manufacturer, you only get a one year warranty?

That is pretty sad. Most Third Party manufacturers offer at least three years.

A new AMD GPU with ID 66AF:F1 appears on CompuBench's database. It is different from the device ID that is known now. It is likely to be a new Navi architecture product. CompuBench recognizes that it has only 20 computing units. If you still have a set of CU units of 64 stream processors, it has only 1280 stream processors. This is obviously impossible. It may be changed to the internal architecture or it may be a software identification error.

...
From the current four graphics tests, the new graphics card has a 2% to 13.5% improvement over the RX 590, but Onscreen's scoring performance is a bit strange. It is estimated that the driver is not yet compatible. In terms of computing performance, this graphics card and RX 590 also have a win-win situation. Some projects do lead the RX 590 quite a bit. From the test results, the whole graphics card should be positioned similar to the current RX 590 dessert card, then it will not The use of HBM memory like the Vega series is quite likely to replace GDDR6 memory.

► Recommended GPU Projects: [email protected] , [email protected] (FP64) (AMD moreso) ► Other notable GPU projects: [email protected] (Nvidia), GPUGrid (Nvidia) ► Project list

66AF:F1 corresponds to Vega 20 in Linux kernel according to Toms.

Just looked in my Kernel sources for Kernel 5.0

/usr/src/linux/drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdgpu/amdgpu_drv.c

Code:
 /* Vega 20 */
        {0x1002, 0x66A0, PCI_ANY_ID, PCI_ANY_ID, 0, 0, CHIP_VEGA20},
        {0x1002, 0x66A1, PCI_ANY_ID, PCI_ANY_ID, 0, 0, CHIP_VEGA20},
        {0x1002, 0x66A2, PCI_ANY_ID, PCI_ANY_ID, 0, 0, CHIP_VEGA20},
        {0x1002, 0x66A3, PCI_ANY_ID, PCI_ANY_ID, 0, 0, CHIP_VEGA20},
        {0x1002, 0x66A4, PCI_ANY_ID, PCI_ANY_ID, 0, 0, CHIP_VEGA20},
        {0x1002, 0x66A7, PCI_ANY_ID, PCI_ANY_ID, 0, 0, CHIP_VEGA20},
        {0x1002, 0x66AF, PCI_ANY_ID, PCI_ANY_ID, 0, 0, CHIP_VEGA20},
Still no Navi ID's in the linux kernel as of yet.
