[Hexus] AMD Radeon RX 670 rumoured for launch this weekend

Quote:
There is increasing noise about AMD refreshing its Radeon RX Polaris graphics card range. Sources such as Germany’s Golem.de, China’s PCOnline and Chiphell, suggest that AMD will very shortly launch the Radeon RX 670. Then, in November, it will follow up with the launch of the RX 680. The above linked report from PCOnline quotes its sources as being AMD add-in-board partners.

the Radeon RX 670 and RX 680, will have the same amount of shader units, memory type and memory interfaces to their predecessors
So RX 600s are just higher clocked RX 500s which are just higher clocked RX 400s?

While it's not very exciting, it is good news for those who aren't in a position to take out a home equity loan for a graphics card.

um...maybe it's just a refresh for OEM parts and not a direct to consumer product? No reviews. No benchmark leaks. No camera phone pics. Nothing. Probably nothing notable anyway.

the only major change is the node drop to 12nm yeah, so clocks and efficiency will be different.

AMD should really just call them, 575 and 585. Naming them 6xx will give people the impression these are a new gen and they will look at them and feel like they are even worse than they are given that it is now a new gen with abysmal performance.

They recycle cards pretty often. Hopefully they can push the card to 1070 performance for $250

What's sad is that the R9 390x is faster then the 480/580. So hopefully the 680 is faster. And it should be...
