Yeah, I think its much better in the back personally. Been using Samsung for 2 generation and got a pixel and the back fingerprint is so much better.

And now they can put that curved edge on all 4 sides! Such innovation!

Agreed, I don't undertand the notch lovers or haters. My essential has one and i really couldn't care less about its existance. Curved edges however are the bane of many cases and screen protectors and need to be toned down.

You wouldn't need to, just pulse them off when you're capturing a picture, with enough sensors to fill in the blind spots the camera would work just like your own brain does filling in your blindspot.

Persistence of vision is a neat thing. Projectors only show film about half the time they run, but the image doesn’t appear to flicker on and off. A simpler is example is PWM control for lights in which a dimmer turns a light on and off hundreds or thousands of times per second.

However, that’s the entire image or light source. Dimming a few pixels in the middle of a screen may stand out because they’ll be compared to the bright pixels nearby. I suppose that “bug” could be incorporated into the UI though with a recording icon appearing over the camera.

I'm waiting for the day when the whole phone shell is one big screen that can change colors to look like your phone is black on the back or pink, or yellow, or red with a picture of car, or extends the display around the phone so you rotate your phone constantly to watch something.

I never notice the notch on my phone, but even if I hated the notch I would still rather have it than another Samsung.
