I will not buy NVIDIA on principle unless they pull another 8000GT out of their hat and by the way they like to gauge that will not happen anytime soon.

It also looks like AMD will not have anything that will substantively challenge the R9 290 for another year or so.

Sigh...
Preach! Until I upgrade my monitor, the 290x currently plays everything quite fine at 1080p..

Graphics performance would have been a completely another level if that was their sole focus with GPUs.
Should have done that earlier.

As for Nvidia pricing. You are not gonna be affect if you do not change your budget.

Mine is always at $200-$300. If Nvidia did not bring in extra 50%, they are not getting new purchase from me. GPU is a entertainment device, it is not a necessity. If it involve work, then the person will not complain about price at all.

Assuming those amd friendly benches arent complete garbage, easy upgrade vs 1060. The additional 2g of memory is nice. For the $, the 580 is still the better bargain, but new tech is always more alluring.

Considering a 1060s are still around $250, $280 is a decent price for RX590 especially when you get 3 good games along with it that you would otherwise have had to buy separately.

This.

Be honest, behind the facade of those things, the real priority is just screwing everyone over in the name of obscene profit & delaying any kind of backlash as long as possible. That's the real world.

I also wonder what TDP this will have.

TDP: 225. RX 580 is 185.
