Based off of what silly trend we all missed?

THe rumors have been indicating Navi10 will be around 1080ti/2080 for less than $500. Maybe less than $400. Won't have anything for ray tracing or specialized compute tasks to keep the price down.

I calculated the odds of this succeeding versus the odds I was doing something incredibly stupid... and I went ahead anyway.

If it's not coming out for the PC, it's dead to me.

Navi due in 6 months tho,
Whens ces? next month so they only have the 7nm vega to release really which is expensive as hell for them to make.

I could be wrong but I'm convinced AMD will be announcing Ryzen 3 at CES. They may not release pricing just yet, but they will probably announce the sku's and basic specs along with a release date. Its not out of the realm of possibility that we will see consumer chips in the wild by March or April...

Proof?

The MSRP of the highest priced Vega 64 was only $649. That is a far cry from $1200 that NV is demanding for 2080 Ti.

Tbh both Zen and Zen + have been released within the first quarter of the year. So I don't see why Zen 2 cannot be on the same dateline.

I want to believe we'll see products at CES but we haven't had a single leak. Wouldn't ES chips be out there by now if they were to launch in a month?
They will announce them though so soon enough we'll have some specs to oogle at. Hard launch would be great, perfect timing to do a much needed build with my tax money.

Yea I think people keep confusing announced with launched. Jim from AdoredTV reiterated this in his last follow up "Too good to be true?" video where he pointed out his leak said "To Be Announced" not "To Be Launched". So I'm on the train that we'll get announcements with actual launches later in the year.

AMD MIGHT announce Ryzen 3000 at CES. AMD MIGHT announce a workstation priced 7nm Vega GPU. They WILL NOT be announcing a consumer level Vega because there will never be another consumer level Vega. Vega delivered mid level gaming performance for upper tier level price while delivering upper tier compute power for upper-mid level price. So those of us on the consumer end will have to wait until Summer, when HOPEFULLY the rumors about NAVI turn out to be close to true and we can ~$300 AMD cards that perform with a 1080ti.

I want to go 4K next year, and I'm crossing my fingers that two NAVI 10s and a Ryzen 3850x turn out to be the way to go. Sometime around July.

I calculated the odds of this succeeding versus the odds I was doing something incredibly stupid... and I went ahead anyway.

If it's not coming out for the PC, it's dead to me.

I'm not sure why anybody was ever expecting an actual launch of Zen 2 at CES? AdoredTV's original leak video quite clearly said TBA in the table and neither Ryzen 1 or 2 were launched at CES. As I said, I am fairly confident we will get an announcement at CES with product availability sometime in Spring 2019...
