[WCCF] AMD Will Be Launching The Ryzen 3000 Series CPUs, APUs And A Radeon GPU At CES

Quote:
Now the Ryzen 3000 series is fairly straightforward. We have been hearing about the upcoming Picasso series for quite a while now and there is even talk on the grapevine that this will be featured in an upcoming XBOX console. That said, AMD will be launching both the CPU and APU SKUs at CES 2019 at their Keynote. The APUs will have vega graphics and will be competing against Intel/NVIDIA combos in the mobility segment.

Perhaps the more interesting news is the confirmation that AMD will be launching a Radeon, consumer graphics cards. This much I have confirmed. As for what it is, based on my past talks with some industry insiders, I believe this is going to be the Radeon Vega II – the 7nm consumer variant of the Vega 20 GPU. This is something that I was told was one of the last projects of Mike Rayfield and should be the one AMD launches at CES 2019. (Update 4:39 AM 12/25/2018 PKT) Availability will be in 1H 2019 after the CES launch.

Sounds to good to be true... .

No way AMD is going to announce Ryzen 3000 unless they are going release it 2 months after. No reason to damage their current sales because they are doing good. GPUs in the other hand is different.

AMD has been rather adamant that there will be NO consumer Vega card so why do these gossip guys keep yammering on about them? Navi is going to be the consumer series and it should launch next summer-ish. Until then if you just have to upgrade you're still stuck with NVIDIA. Sorry, but thems the breaks.

I calculated the odds of this succeeding versus the odds I was doing something incredibly stupid... and I went ahead anyway.

If it's not coming out for the PC, it's dead to me.

Well Vega FE technically is not customer right because of the price tag. Knowing all the rumour of Vega 7nm it's going to be at least 16GB HMB2 which is not cheap and 7nm. You can try hard to make it customer but it never will.

Yeah but id pay $1300 for that over a 2080ti. I need a card to replace my titan x maxwell. And so i want a little more vram. And not for $2500.

Actually $1000 is about how much the 16gb Frontier Edition cards are going for. Iv seen them as low as $600 used. So i dont see why they cant make a new 7nm card with 16gigs for around the same price or cheaper.

If we are getting a new GPU dont get too hyped.
Its going to be 1080ti/2080 level performance for near 2080ti price.

SLI Voodoo 2 - > GeForce4 MX 420 -> GF 6600GT -> GF 6800GT -> GF 8800Ultra -> AMD 4870 -> AMD 4890 -> CF AMD 5820 -> CF AMD 6850 -> CF AMD 7970 -> SLI GF 680 -> SLI GF 780 -> CF AMD 290X -> GF 980ti -> SLI GF 980ti -> GF 1080ti -> SLI GF 1080ti -> <- RTX 2080ti (DOA/Refunded)
