[Bit-Tech]UK gets just 100 Radeon VII cards at launch, claims OCUK

Oh boy

Looks like the rumours were true

Quote:
The purchasing manager for Overclockers UK has suggested that launch stock for the AMD Radeon VII graphics card family, due to go on sale tomorrow afternoon, will be in extremely short supply with as few as 100 cards allocated for the whole of the UK.

And those 100 would be swept up by miners and scalpers.

I blame Brexit. Seriously, this isn't good. The price is going to be even higher due to low stocks.

For people that want Radeon 7 it probably best to get it at it right away. The price will probably go higher if you wait.

I was just following the vega 64 prices, as I was planning to get one for a friend to use as eGPU for his older mac.
Their prices just spiked by almost 100$ (Edit: it is now 200$ increase after news circulated more) in some places.

Seems retailers already rubbing their hands for the price hike.

Brexit at fault here? Silly speculation
This isnt good? That is correct
Price higher due to low stock? Always the case, in every market high demand but short supply often means higher prices.

The unconfirmed speculation on production quantities stated 5,000 units produced for all global markets; 100 units for the UK is an expected number regardless of Brexit.
Please remove your political nonsense from OCN.

Vega release was the same, low stock levels and high prices whenever any were available.

Not a good idea to get new AMD cards at launch. Waiting out for supply to stabalize would be a good thing.

#2 their debt is insane, even for a "diverse field" company. They cannot even afford to service the debt maintenance let alone make an actual dent in the debt itself. - Internet Stranger
