I keep forgetting that Microsoft is involved with PC gaming. I would be excited if this was about Sony/Playstation linking together with PC.

I have to wonder if this will allow for PC exclusive features like:
frame rate control
mouse/keyboard support
Image quality options
and other standard features that come with PC games. Sure, it will be developer specific. However, I would love to see Halo Infinite come to the PC but if my only option is to use a gamepad to play it...do not want.

To be fair if it was a straight up port it still has to have mouse/keyboard support or not buy IMO.

Could be possible if the pcs were using freeBSD the open source OS. but not very many people use it.

This is my concern. If this occurs, the developers will have even less reason to spend the time on actually bothering with proper PC settings and upgrades in games.

I could give them a pass if they gave decent keyboard/mouse support and resolution selection and nothing else in the beginning. I'm still undecided about framerates being locked at 60FPS.
There, I've drawn a line in the sand

And I'm not talking about that limited mouse polling rate stuff either.

I agree, this would be a great opportunity for MS to make a comeback in the PC market. Many of us would be absolutely thrilled to play MCC on PC, myself included.

Hi,
Funny I was under the impression that's what xbox app was all about in the first place :/

Changing it in the os might also mess up a lot like game mode and stuff like that did early for steam/..... actually lowering performance

I would rather MS keep all these features in store only games.. which they probably will anyway.

Just give me Forza 4 and 6 on PC. That's all I want. I don't see Forza 4 happening though, the licenses they had for a lot of the cars expired before the Xbox 360 service was even taken down and the licensing with Toyota is going to be a nightmare.

The Xbox app is a standalone improved Games For Windows Live. Nothing more, at least for now.

Why would they not do this though? Forza Horizon 4 (which is a firstparty driving game) has full keyboard and mouse support, full image quality options, unlocked frame rate and one of the best benchmarking tools I've ever seen in a game.

Forza was developed for both Xbox and PC, not just the Xbox code ran on a Windows PC, they're two distinct versions. If they were to take the pure Xbox code and have it run on the PC, it would basically be running through an emulator, which would limit it down to the Xbox experience, not a PC experience (removing the keyboard and mouse support, quality options, unlocked fps, benchmarking tools, etc.). Now what they could do in the "emulator" that's translating the Xbox code for the PC, is have the ability to configure input methods and the such to allow for keyboard and mouse along with possibly even resolution changes and FPS unlocks, but that'd require a ton of work (though not outside the realm of what they're willing to do based on what they've done with their backwards compatibility program).
