[TPU] AMD to Simultaneously Launch Zen 2 and Unveil "Navi" This June

Quote:
PC enthusiasts are in for a second major announcement, this time from RTG, with a technical reveal or unveiling of Radeon "Navi," the company's first GPU designed from the ground up for the 7 nm silicon fabrication process. It remains to be seen which market-segment AMD targets with the first "Navi" products, and the question on everyone's minds, whether AMD added DXR acceleration, could be answered. Lastly, the company could announce more variants of its Radeon Instinct DNN accelerators.

As the first CEO keynote speaker at the COMPUTEX Press Conference, Dr. Lisa Su said, "As one of the most important global events for our industry, I look forward to COMPUTEX each year. I am honored to deliver the opening keynote this year and provide new details about the next generation of high-performance AMD platforms and products. With our partners, we will tell the story of how leading-edge technologies and an open ecosystem are driving an inflection point in computing and industry innovation and positively impacting several important markets."

It ends in June, you can't expect TPU to be any more accurate than that.

Hopefully the Computex speech will give us some decent information, the last one was kind of disappointing.

Idk AMD currently has those segments won in terms of p/p. Nvidia dropped the ball trying to raise the price point of their low/mid end and Intel just isn't offing anything attractive when compared to Zen low-mid end.

From all the stuff we know Navi will be slotted under VII. I presume AMD will have a Navi for 2070/2060 competition for less money. Should not be too hard to beat or match 2070 for less than $500.

To be perfectly honest I think that's the right move and it's one that I'm happy with. Too much R&D to make a super high end GPU that won't sell anyway, even if it did manage to perform better than current high end. AMD's obviously found a niche selling massive amounts of low to mid range cards so why not focus on what makes you money? Still, I would like to see something close the VII (in gaming) but cheaper.

I am sure they will follow up like with Did with P10 and P11. Only GPU AMD will not have an answer to is 2080 Ti segment which will come in 2020 with high-end Navi. These days AMD has so many skus for different clients and markets.
