Interesting...would it not be easier to lower current RTX cards? More than a pinch of salt on this one.

It would make sense, but I see them just slapping the TI logo on each card and making those price points in between the current gen and just adding a little bit more of ram so they can make more money that way.

hey, having an under powered card can have its advantages.

I also wonder if the VAT is already included or not. In my country Germany you can add roughly another 20% on top. Then this card is way above 400 + extra costs of shipping to Europe and profit margin of the resellers. Maybe $450-500 final in Euros here? Suddenly doesn't sound as attractive as before. Hm....

If you think about it, the RTX2070 is around the old GTX1080 in raw performance with out the new features and gimmicks. This was the biggest criticism at launch. In AMD terms maybe an OC Vega 64. Having another Vega-class card for almost the same price is not that big of a deal. AMD seems to replace Polaris and Vega at once like they promised. The new chps will be cheaper to produce.
V64 is already at 1080/2070 performance in enough titles. 1080's are EOL and 2070's are near enough $500 still. V56 is $299 currently and V64 can be found for $399. $330 for roughly V64 performance level is not exactly a stretch considering they are using GDDR6 now.

Who cares about rebrands if the price and performance is there?

How's that gtx1650 looking compared to the rebranded and cheaper rx570?

Would love to see enough pressure put on them to put out a 2070, 2080, 2080ti GTX card (just omit the tensor/rtx cores and drop the prices accordingly), but that doesn't seem likely.

They might. Nvidia loves to be the party pooper. What wasnt likely at the time:

  • RTX 2080TI
  • RTX TITAN
  • VEGA VII
  • GTX 16XX

Oh no this is terrible. They single out the Vega VII as high end and we are to expect mainstream cards. I guess my hopes for around 2070 performance are maybe a bit too high.
Also Q3 for Zen2. I thought it was Q2 for Zen.

I am starting to have a bad feeling about this

I just hope it isn't like late September for the Navi graphics cards only for them to be around 580/590 and Vega 56 performance
