So they are gonna re-brand all their existing inventory down a level (2080ti to 2080 etc.)

Then refresh the current GT102 chip on the 7nm process with a few added cores to replace the 2080ti

that about right?

So are these the cards that were in the pipeline for gamers, before they decided to sell us discarded AI cards?

Maybe the 2080ti Super Megazord edition. The rest are gonna be the same discards at a price point closer to what they should have been.

So the RTX 2080 Super is faster than a RTX 2080 Ti now?
I guess to save money, since calling it 3000 series, would need to re-list everything etc.
The new chips could most likely be installed on the same PCBs as well if they need to.

And calling it "super" will market it as better, faster, and taking jabs at AMD.

The new 2080 super if it does get the same chip as the 2080 TI, yes. Though they might not give it the same clocks in order to sell all the current 2080 TI if they drop their prices. Put it close to the current 2080 TI but not just as fast. It might also only get 8GB instead of 11GB to make a difference between them.

Or just drop the price of the 2080ti to match that of the 2080 Super since they would be the exact same card anyway.

lol... y'all act like you're new to this.

This is how it works, be happy NV felt threatened enough to release what 2080ti should'a been all along. This also tells you what's coming for 3 series is hopefully a beastly step.

This is starting to look really juicy if true.....almost makes me want to sell my month old 2080 Strix while I'll still get a decent price for it and see what this turns into.
