If AMD isn't baiting Nvidia into releasing the Super lineup at ridiculous prices and then announce that Navi is actually $100 less for both models, $349 for the RX 5700 XT and $279 for the RX 5700, then they can both go under all the manure present in all of the Back to the Future films. See you in 2020, AMD and Nvidia.

Spoiler!

Realistically its been quite awhile since people would say Nvidia had good prices, maybe since what the 8800 line?

If anything there really isnt any reason for the typical consumer to upgrade, at least not until we see the next line of consoles and bottom line development takes a couple steps up. I dont think that there is any doubt that the 2k line up isnt a great option for gamers, but I dont look for this trend to continue. Eventually, there will be competition in the market or Nvidia will need to start offering more viable upgrade paths to consumers. Nvidia is a public company and they cant afford too many poor sales cycles for their most visible product/s.
The 8800 Ultra was either 600 or 700. The 8800gts were a great performance/price card but the high end was in line with the 9 and 10 series pricing aside from the Titans.

48GB for $3000 or 96GB of effective memory for $6000 would be a bargain! I doubt we'll see it though
