even then it's a big might. $400 8 Core Intel vs $400 12 Core AMD... I would really want to see independent reviews at that point.

If Intel releases something that solidly trounces AMD (and not just "up to 10% faster in certain scenarios" ) AND they meet or beat AMD's prices, then yes I'd definitely switch back.

Intel would need to do 25% IPC over Zen2 12 core/24 thread 5.1ghz+ all core for $400 and I would go back. But we all know that's not going to happen.

Nope.

Not loyal to either of these companies.
Bring me your best at the best price you can give me, and I'll think about it.

Very true. Don't be loyal to any company. Every company has there worthlle and overpriced/underperforming products, just buy what is good and worth its value. I know people in Canada who will buy everything Korean (including home appliances and air conditioners) but some of those products are not very reliable.

Its good AMD is back and challenging Intel. Intel will produce worthwhile products and has to charge reasonable prices for its products going forward.

+1, no need to be loyal, AMD just getting our love/appreciation only because they are doing what we could not do as customers- Kick Intel in the nuts for milking us for last 10 years with their garbage Dual core i3/Quad core i7.
I love to see them fighting for our money now :-).

Intel's desktop outlook this year and next looks a disaster. Likely the next two desktop launches will still be on 14nm. One will have to battle against Ryzen 4000 on 7nm+.

* Ryzen 7 2700X * Gigabyte Aorus X370 Gaming 5 *16GB Crucial Ballistix Elite DDR4 3200Mhz memory * 500GB Samsung 960 EVO NVMe M.2/500GB Crucial BX300
EVGA FTW2 1070 Ti * NZXT S340 Elite White

Agreed, brand loyalty is worthless and Intel's roadmap for the next few years looks depressing. Intel dropping prices is to tempt some as AMD admitted the 9700K is still faster in most 1080p games compared to their 3700X/3800X.
While the 9700K may be faster in games I still feel like AMD is the better choice this year because of Intel's security issues, hotter chips and lack of hyper-threading. PCIe 4.0 and overall higher quality VRMs on X570s are just another added bonus.

Personally I'm not sold on the Ryzen hype, I'm waiting until we see benchmarks. I'll either pick up a 3700X/3800X or hang onto my 6700K until it becomes a bottleneck as it's keeping up just fine currently.
