Two years later I paid $285US on newegg for a Sapphire Fury Nitro.

At both of these times, there was nothing NVidia had in that price range that was competitive.

I could buy a 1060ti 3Gb or a Fury, hmmm, not a hard choice.

Be honest, behind the facade of those things, the real priority is just screwing everyone over in the name of obscene profit & delaying any kind of backlash as long as possible. That's the real world.

290 and 290X where good deals at launch if you watercooled them. People still bught Nvidia because of that. Also that line of GPUs became more expensive because of miners. After recovery, the CAD was weaker.

Scott Herkelman was at NVIDIA from 2012 to 2015 as GeForce GTX general manager. Pretty sure he had a clue about their 12-month refresh might be.

Just like Jensen said they use the most affordable technology.
You know you don't *have* to carry water for Intel and Nvidia, right?

Yup, it's absolute madness. Even on a 2080ti, it's kind of cool to take a second and look at, and then you're left wanting to go and get the frames back in DX11.

For many people, AMD exists purely as an intellectual foil for Nvidia and Intel, serving no purpose other than to lower prices for their Chosen Ones, not an actual entity of their own.
