Who'd thought a midrange gpu launch would be so exciting. The balls in Nvidia's court now. Will they lower prices?!

If this is the plan, they are forgetting that Nvidia also gave themselves two days to lower the prices before the Super cards are made available. Navi will be available on the 7th, Super on the 9th, which is a Tuesday. They can keep playing this game, but Nvidia allowed themselves to have the last word and so you can say that AMD baited Nvidia and then Nvidia baited AMD.
Not everyone keeps up with the news on a daily basis though, so I can get why they did it this way. We can always question whether this was planned in advance by AMD or a response to nVidia, but if nVidia lowers them now, we will definitely know that they did it in response to AMD. AMD is trying to give the impression that they are in control of the market. And it seems that they are succeeding in giving that impression.

They are in control of the market when it comes to CPUs and are trying to piggyback Navi on that. Let's look at the RX 5700, it was advertised as being faster than the RTX 2060 and with 2 GB more VRAM. For that AMD wants / wanted $30 more. So, what changed since? Nvidia didn't discontinue the RTX 2060, it's still there at the same $349. What changed for AMD to now put the RX 5700 at price parity with the RTX 2060? Didn't they think that it was worth more? Now it's only worth the same? Does this look like a company that is in control?

I said they wanted to give that impression, not that they actually were in control.

You said that it seemed that they were succeeding in giving that impression. I disagree with that.

its still not quite worth it, it would be a different story if this gen's Navi supported their hybrid raytracing.

trolling an adult is very dangerous, don't try it at home nor at work. you don't want to play tag with a rabid man.

Oh and the responses......lol

But ofc if not true....lol on me

I'll probably pick up a 5700 XT eventually, I'll add it to my rig so I can try GPU passthrough.
There's no doubt AMD is greedy. Just take a look at the FE vs FE LC, $500 for a garbage AIO. While the same AIO only cost $100 extra on the RX Vega 64 LC compared to the RX Vega 64 LE.

Sure, because lowering the price of the RX 5700 by $30 is going to make it a resounding success all of a sudden. "Jebaited". Seriously now.

Nvidia can lower the prices of the Super lineup too, it only launches on the 9th, two days after AMD's. It will be the two day rule. AMD lowers the prices two days after learning of the RTX Super prices and performance and then Nvidia does the same but has the last word. What is AMD going to do then with the cards on the shelves?

More, for the first month the only Navi cards you'll be able to buy are blower reference cards. Meanwhile, all the AIBs have to do with the Nvidia cards is take their existing custom RTX 2070 and 2080 PCB's and coolers, put in the new chips and print new outer boxes with RTX 2060 Super and 2070 Super branding. Day one availability.
