[VideoCardz] AMD Radeon VII reaches ‘end of life’?

Quote:
Cowcotland has just confirmed with their sources that AMD Radeon VII is no longer in production. The stores are selling the remaining stock and apparently, no more Radeon VII cards will be made.

According to Cowcotland, Radeon VII was declared ‘end of life’ last month by AMD.

Besides the fact that reference blower 5700XT runs hot, its performance so far has been pretty darn good and great value/performance. Does this mean we might be getting a 5800 or 5900 by fall or spring of 2020?

Guess we gotta wait and find out.

2020 bigger Navi and consoles I think. There might be a smaller Navi too used for lowest of low ends and APUs but those APUs always take them forever.

RVII was dead long ago. It's a workstation card hardware wise but I doubt you can magically use workstation drivers from FirePro on it.

I'm stoked about lower end Navi. Lower end GTX cards are severely lacking. Let's go mainstream, lets go!

edit...just reread that and it came off like a cheerleader...oh well...I thought it, I typed it,....it's there

Not rumor. Stock is sold out and is not being replaced. Newegg.ca and Amazon.ca for instance are now all sold out. AIB pics of the cards along with Auto Notify buttons being phased out. AMDs web page had since run out a few months back and not even featured there.

EOL in preparation for Navi 20 (at reasonable prices ok AMD).

After seeing where the 5700 XT sits, I'll take big Navi for $600 if it goes head to head with 2080 Super or better. Nvidia is likely saving it for big Navi.

With the RX 5700 and a SOMEWHAT decent price, AMD has finally matched and actually pulled ahead of two R9 290s OC'd in CF. I'm stoked for Navi 20 at a reasonable price and I can finally ditch CF forever. Will pair it with a 3700x for 8 core parity with the upcoming consoles.

To be frank, I want to be able to play Cyberpunk 2077 and I know an R9 290 will not cut it (game may not support CF, and if the game does probably only in DX12). So after 6+ years it will definitely be time to upgrade rig and OS.

Still stock in EU, but then the supply chain here is slower to react to changes and no one wants these cards anyway to buy out remaining stock. 640-700 EUR... You can get a custom design RTX 2080 for that. Or that 419 EUR reference crapblower 5700 XT.

I think with nvidia announcing 2080 super, it will make the VII completely useless to buy for the gaming market, and those that wanted it for compute, already bought it.
My guess is that amd might bring the bigger navi to match the 2080 super a bit earlier in order to give nvidia a fight before nvidia are ready for the next gen.

+1, Also think that RTX 2080SUPER forced AMD to bring bigger Navi sooner then they planned.

Pretty sure that 2080Super won't even touch Big Navi, I am fully expecting it to topple the 2080Ti with ease, especially if a 40CU card at 2000+mhz can compete with a stock 2080 (In some games), than an 80+ CU card with RDNA 2.0, a proper ISA capable of utilizing Wave64, will continue to gain performance over driver maturation (ala GCN 1.0 on 7000 series) should be essentially double the perf of a stock 2080 (once drivers are ironed out, and optimizations are in place for games).

Modded power play tables and a 2000+mhz overclock on Navi 20, should put out some pretty impressive performance figures, I'm predicting.
