Highend AMD @ Christmas?! Nvidia maybe kicking themselves for just a 5% bump for the 2080S. 2080 Ti competitor remote possibility.

Isn't BF V made with Frostbite? At least as of now, the difference isn't anywhere near 2x. Nvidia has been making some driver improvements and the massive lead that AMD got in Forza Horizon 4 for example, has evaporated.

That is true. AMD's GPU designs haven't been running at their optimal clockspeeds ever since GCN came out.

It's also being said that Navi 12 isn't a bigger piece of silicon, it's instead aimed at replacing the Polaris cards. And given the naming, it actually makes sense. The RX 580 carries the codename Polaris 20, whereas the RX 560 is Polaris 21.

The 2x part was an obvious exaggeration, but the 5700X was outputting similar performance to the 2080 super in BFV back when it launched.

And I'm sure whatever AMD launches would consume way less than advertised if you gimp the hell out of it.

Point being, you already have a space heater (two in fact).

It's not gimped, it's stock because my board doesn't have MCE support for Coffee Lake. It's running at Intel Spec not MCE like the board manufacturers abusing the chips.

Stock a Radeon VII is a space heater.

Meh. Did the Neweg math and I'm in for over $2K no matter what video card I go with on the 3900X build. So I'm not gonna worry, just gonna go Radeon VII and start looking at end of 2020 when 4K options are better.

I calculated the odds of this succeeding versus the odds I was doing something incredibly stupid... and I went ahead anyway.

If it's not coming out for the PC, it's dead to me.

Sorry if I don't keep track of your mood swing for the week. Not that long ago you had it running at max OC. You made sure to repeat yourself about it in every single comment in the news section.

Make sure to repeat yourself more. I can't keep track of it otherwise.

So is the 9900K if you don't hack the hell out of an older motherboard or tweak a new one.

A low end Coffee Lake board with a 9900k isn't a space heater only the high end boards that enable MCE out of the box.

The mod is simple, mod the stock bios. Program the bios chip and tape off a few pins on the CPU. Only takes 30 minutes to complete the mod and the CPU runs Intel's specifications perfectly.
