it's a win for AMD, if they can emulate Titan's success. Gotta remember, they didn't start @ $2500. They started @ $999. NVidia has built a ton of cushion thanks to AMD's flailing. This now benefits AMD too, if they can release a competent product & trigger full blown duopoly scams. if so, then our only hope is Obi and Intel. N my money is on Obi.
AMD Titan was Vega FE. If they are going to release Titan GPU it will be based on RDNA. I dont expect to see the prosumer of MI card from AMD. They have to fill out all these servers with these GPUs and Epyc CPUs.
I don't see them releasing a RDNA Titan competitor since ROCm won't be supporting RDNA. The Titan V and Titan RTX are cards for researchers which is why they both have a feature from their Tesla lineup unlike previous gaming Titans.

I really feel like I know the answer and am going to kick myself for asking later, looking like a noob, but when you say MI, what do you mean?

Referring to their Instinct cards, which stands for Machine Intelligence.

The reason I say this is because AMD cant really develop gaming drivers for MI based cards and RDNA at the same time. They just dont have the manpower. Vega was a means to fuel both gaming and enterprise. They had Vega 64/Vega Fe/WS/Mi25 all based on the same core. With Radeon 7 they had a similar idea but ended up being gaming GPU because even Apple had Radeon 7 cards in their machine. It almost seems that if Apple has a GPU it will end up a gaming card. If Apple is going to have this MI100 gpu then I am sure we will see gaming version.

Ok, so I'm not too embarrassed. Kept thinking machine learning, not machine intelligence and couldn't place the I. Thanks.

Vega is still a better workstation architecture than RDNA. We'll most likely see a new Arcturus Radeon Pro card to finally replace the WX 8200 and WX 9100. The W5700 is not a successor to the WX 8200 or WX 9100.

I'm calling it now a Radeon Pro Arcturus card announced at Siggraph.

So it confirms that TSMC's N7 is already good enough even for large 650+ mm² silicone?

i'm guessing you already have most of Obi Wan's collection

idc how they do it, they just need to do it. Hell, release a 500w 7nm part if that's whats required to compete with NV's 80+ segment.

R.I.P. Zawarudo, may you OC angels' wings in heaven.
If something appears too good to be true, it probably is.
Best R0ach Quote of all time : TLDR: Haswell might be the last legit gaming platform unless mice get their own non-USB interface on some newer architecture.
